The 60 feet statue of Sri Rajakaliamman is first of its kind and cannot be seen in any part of the world.

Temple Structure


The temple covers an area of 35,000 Sq.ft with the surroundings coconut. The greatness of the temple lies in its architecture. The idol present in the entrance of the temple premises stands for the grand old history of the temple to over 200 years. A person entering the temple can immediately feel and get tuned to the sacred atmosphere and the spiritual power of the place.
Description of the 60 feet Raja Kali Amman


The temple structure of Sri Rajakaliamman was constructed in a grand manner, where one can get amazed while having the first glance of the 60 feet statue present at the entrance. The thought on the first glimpse while entering the temple and the last lingering look while leaving are the finest impressions one can get on Sri Rajakaliamman’s glory. The deity of Sri Rajakaliamman has ten hands holding the sword, bow, arrow, Gadhayutham, Sulam, Holy Chakra and Sangu, Udukkai (instrument produces special noise), Pasakkaiyuru (noose to cast and destroy evils), Kunkumachimil, which symbolizes the goddess power, strength and courage in removing all the sins and destroying the evils and demons to protect her devotees. A sacred Naga-Linga tree is present nearer to the 60 feet deity of Sri Rajakaliamman. At the divine feet one can find the “Sudalai Kali Amman” idol on the right side and “Sri Sammundeeshwari” idol on the left -Side.

The internal structure


The sanctum sanctorum ("Moolastanam" - Tamil, "GarbhaGrih" - Sanskrit) faces the eastern horizon overlooking the Javadhu Mountain Chain, where the holy deity of Goddess Rajakaliamman appearing in the form of “Sri Santhakaliamman” reflecting the calmness for Devotees. The vigrahams of Lord “Bala Ganesh” and Lord “Bala Muruga” are guarding on the left and right side of Sri Santhakaliamman. To the north of the sanctum – sanctorum, Arulvakku Mandapam is located. The Garamul stage and the statue of Nagakali Amman is present Inside the Arulvakku Mandapam. Adjacent to the arulvakku mandapam a separate temple for Ancheneyar. Which directly faces “Yaga Salai Mandapam” Nearer to yaga salai mandapam Urchavar temple is present. The “Nava-graha Mandapam” and “Saptha Kannika shrine” (shrine of the seven maidens) is present nearer to 60 feet Rajakaliamman.

Evening – 3.00 p.m. to 8.30 p.m.

{ Location }

Rajakaliamman Temple Located nearer to the foothills of Javadhu mountain chain in Agaram village, Tirupattur, Vellore District, Tamilnadu, the temple is just a 15 minutes drive from the Tirupattur town bus stand & railway station. Tirupattur is located 225 kilometers from Chennai, 180 kms form Bangalore and 60 kms form kuppam (Andhra State). The temple is well connected by road and rail from all parts of India.
